Activator Method
The Activator is the most widely used chiropractic instrument. Studies show improvement with the Activator Method. It also has been compared to other techniques and proven to be just as effective. This means that for many patients an Activator adjustment could very well lead to the same outcome as a manual adjustment. This offers chiropractors and patients an alternative to manual adjusting when it is preferred for clinical reasons.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an old healing practice of traditional Chinese medicine dating back over 4,000 years. It still remains effective today as a way to strengthen the body rather than merely treating symptoms. It is primarily used to relieve pain as well as treat other conditions. More than 3 million Americans and 200,000 children in the U.S. have had acupuncture to help relieve a symptom or condition. Because of its low side effects, it has been the treatment of choice for many doctors across the country. It is even more popular in other countries.
Chiropractic Care
We specialize in correcting your body’s misalignments. Our goal is to ensure that your spine and the rest of your body are working harmoniously. To do so, we will help you develop a plan that will require light stretching, some exercise, chiropractic care, and a healthy diet.
Corrective Exercises
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
Custom Orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look similar to insoles, but are biomedical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalance. The plastic body of the custom orthotic helps to re-align the foot while you walk. We understand that everyone is different, which is why custom foot orthotics are made just for you.
Electrical Stimulation
Electrotherapy is an alternative pain management treatment option that involves the use of mild electromagnetic pulses to provide relief for the patient. This treatment option can dull pain, repair tissue, strengthen muscles, and even improve your blood circulation.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is an intervention administered to various patients to alleviate pain or restrictive tissue problems. The release treatment usually involves the application of gentle or moderate pressure on the connective tissues and leads to relaxation and eventual elongation of the fascia therein. These restrictions are often caused by traumatic accidents or inflammations of the soft tissue. Some patients get them as an after-effect of surgery. They always result in muscular tension and spasm of sharp pain. They cannot be detected through standard diagnosis tests like the x-ray scan. It is essential for a patient to visit a doctor or physiotherapy expert once they notice restriction of movement in the hip area or shoulder. Painful backs can also be a sign of the restriction and can only be treated through the Myofascial Release procedures.
If you have never undergone a Myofascial Release procedure before, you might wonder what will be done. There is no need to panic any way, since it is a minor therapy intervention meant to alleviate any pain that could be as a result of fascia muscle pain and restriction. Here is what you can expect if you visit a standard therapist for your myofascial pain treatment.
- The therapist might have to interview you about what you think the cause of the pain could be. They may also palpitate the affected area to identify the particular fascia that needs to be massaged and given due attention during the procedure.
- A standard treatment should last anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, but should not last longer than that as that may lead to soreness and fatigue.
- You may experience considerable relief, but if the case is severe, you may need to go for another session or two in the subsequent days.
- The treatment does not require the use of any equipment and creams or gels. The therapist will only need their hands to manipulate and apply slight pressure to the trigger points and affected muscles.
Pediatric Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is not just for adults. In fact, more and more parents are seeing the many benefits of their children seeing a chiropractor every single day. Some of the benefits are improved sleep, improved behavior and attitude, and improved immune system function. Children encounter many physical stresses in their life that you may not realize. These stresses can cause your child’s spine to have issues in growth and development.
Pre/Postnatal Chiropractic

Spinal Screenings
Sometimes all that stands between your daily pain and a happier, healthier you, is a chiropractic adjustment. Your body naturally wants to be in alignment, and our daily activities can throw what is naturally aligned out of balance. Also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, chiropractic adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. Here at Bochicchio Chiropractic, we can help you achieve balance and proper alignment, giving you relief and improving your health.
Our goal in treating your joint and spinal issues is to reduce subluxation, increase range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our highly skilled chiropractor will work with you to relieve your pain and get you back to living a pain free and healthy lifestyle.
Sacro Occipital Technic
Sacro Occipital Technic (r) methods is one of the oldest Chiropractic techniques. Dr. Major Bertrand DeJarnette developed the technique in 1929. It truly is the most encompassing method of Chiropractic practiced in the world. As the name implies, SOT (r) focuses on the relationship of the occipital bone in the cranium and its relationship and function with the sacrum. The central nervous system is comprised of the brain and the spinal cord and the structures surrounding and supporting the function of the CNS (Central Nervous System). This system is encased in the bony cranium and the vertebra, including the sacrum and pelvis. Unlike other chiropractic techniques, SOT(r) is a system which compromises four categories of the function of the CNS and how that governs the function of the human body. These are called categories. Each category has a sequence of observations and defined series of steps to bring the body into harmony and balance. It is an all-inclusive series of techniques compromised in the technic. More can be learned about this genius doctor and the pure Chiropractic method he developed and copyrighted by the Sacro Occipital Research Society, International. www.SORSI.com
Chiropractic is a science, art and philosophy. The adjustment is the trademark of a Chiropractic method by correcting a subluxation. It does not include manual manipulation, as defined by insurance companies or the AMA or other entities governing our healthcare, such as Physical Therapy or Massage Therapy. Chiropractic stands alone as the only profession who focuses on the Central Nervous System and its function to resolve the vertebral subluxation complex. There has been discrimination in the healthcare field for over a hundred years and the medical industrial complex has developed its counterparts, but nothing compares to a true Chiropractic Adjustment. It is a system of healthcare not comparable to all those other therapies. It is a philosophy, not a therapy; It is not a medicine. It is completely natural and truly Holistic.
At Bochicchio Chiropractic there are several adjuncts offered to their patients including cold LASER, the Ionic Detox Foot Bath, Therapeutic Ultrasound, and Inferential Electrotherapy. But the doctor is mostly “hands on” in her methods of treating following a chiropractic diagnosis. Through her forty years of experience, she can advise certain habits and exercises recommended to help resolve the patient’s complaint. Because of her background in veterinary medicine and cancer research prior to Chiropractic, she is aware of her observations and will elaborate when asked about today’s issues with our health and well-being.
Sacro Occipital Technic (c) Methods are all encompassing. The category system can determine if the major subluxation is an ascending or descending condition. For instance; a Category II condition involves the instability of the pair of weight bearing joints in the pelvis called the sacroiliac joint. With this condition, the patient’s major complaint is structural instability resulting in back pain and extremity pain and dysfunction. It also robs the body of proper visceral-somatic function which includes organ and tissue complaints and dis-ease. There is CMRT (Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique) which consists of a series of protocols and nutritional recommendations to bring the body back to health and homeostasis.
Category III is the protocol for treating degenerative disc disease and degenerative joint disease of the spine; primarily in the lumbar or the cervical spine. This is often presented with sciatica or neuropathy in the extremities. Along with the orthopedic blocking technique and methods used by the SOT doctor, cold LASER and ultrasound and nutritional support is often recommended to enhance the patient to heal and enjoy a pain free lifestyle.
Category I involves the health and function of the brain and spinal cord, and all the structures involved housed inside the cranium and the spinal cord. Numerous membranes and structures function to bring the central nervous system back to health and homeostasis. This is the category often utilized for strokes and traumatic brain injuries.
Extremity adjustments are extremely beneficial when any of the categories are aggravated by a faulty, injured extremity. Adjusting a foot or knee or shoulder will increase the likelihood of faster stabilization of the category and the patient.
Lastly is Chiropractic Craniopathy which dovetails with each category and specific adjustments to the cranium and the membranes inside the skull. This is often the “go-to” for specific complaints. It also works in conjunction with upper-cervical specific adjustments and treatment of the Autonomic Nervous System; specifically, the CN-X the Vagus Nerve which has gotten a lot of attention lately to help balance the parasympathetic system for relief of many neuro-emotional complaints such as anxiety, panic attacks, and depression. It assists in hyper-sympathetic dysfunction which is endemic in our children and our society during these universal times.
